Build Muscle Mass Quickly

build-muscle-mass-quicklyIf you want to build muscle mass quickly, it’s going to be important that you’re focusing your workout around all the right exercises.  Some guys make the mistake of going into the gym and performing exercise after exercise after exercising using all movements that really don’t target the muscles effectively.

All that will make for is a long workout that gets you nowhere.  If you really want to build muscle mass quickly, you must choose your exercises correctly.  You only want to do the ones that are going to promote excellent muscle growth as all the rest are simply going to fatigue the body and take you further away from your end goal.

Let’s take a peak at the top exercises that you should be focusing on in your muscle building workout.

Squats

First up you have your squats.  If you want to build muscle mass quickly, these can’t be beat.  Often called the ‘king’ of lower body exercises, squats are going to work every single muscle group in the lower body as well as stimulate many of the muscle groups in the core as well.

Those who aren’t squatting as part of their workout are definitely missing out so make sure that you don’t overlook this.

Whether you choose to do front squats or back squats – both will be effective as part of your overall program plan.

Bench Press

Second, the next exercise to help you build muscle mass quickly is the bench press.  While squats are great for lower body development, the bench press is top of the line for upper body development.

This movement will help you build muscle mass quickly as it’s going to work the pec muscles, the triceps, the biceps, as well as the shoulders.  Essentially you’re covering everything except your back muscles while doing this lift.

Make sure it’s included near the beginning when you’re feeling fresh.

Barbell Rows

Third, barbell rows are going to fill in that void that the bench press missed.  This is a great movement for the back muscles and will also help to promote good muscle growth.  Since you will usually be able to lift quite a significant amount of weight with this exercise, you’re going to find that it’s really great for developing more strength and power.

Deadlifts

For the lower body, another great exercise for helping you build muscle mass quickly are deadlifts.  These are going to work the entire backside of the body and allow you to firm up the glutes and hamstrings.

Be sure that you do balance these with your squat work however as they are very intense and doing multiple sets of both in a single workout could get to be a bit much.

Shoulder Press

Finally, if you want to further work your shoulders after you’ve finished the bench press, the shoulder press is another good muscle building exercise to do.  Having nicely developed shoulders is going to give you a nice wide look to the body and for many people, that’s one of the primary aims of their muscle building workouts.

So keep these main compound exercises in mind if you want to build muscle mass quickly. You definitely should not be doing them all in the same workout but rather spread them out over the course of the week for best results.
